Mark Abrahm brings over three decades of experience across credit, capital markets, and operating leadership to our Fractional CFO team. Having been an arranger, investor, and CFO, Mark’s broad range of experience informs how he analyzes business risk and translates it into sound financial decisions.

Most recently, Mark served as CFO of Fortified Data, a technology managed services firm, where he professionalized the finance function — allocating costs by business line, introducing financial KPIs, and standardizing legal and contracting frameworks. He advised on the separation and capitalization of the company’s SaaS business into a standalone entity. During his tenure, the client base tripled and recurring revenue grew at a 40% CAGR.

Mark partners with founders and executive teams to bring an investor’s lens to operating decisions — translating the real drivers of value and risk into financial clarity, actionable insights, and a sustainable capital structure. By professionalizing finance operations and infrastructure, establishing reporting and forecasting cadences, and helping leadership teams grow with financial clarity and discipline, he brings an investor’s lens to operating decisions, with particular strength in multi-entity financial structures, cost allocation, and translating business risk into actionable insights.

Mark began his career in leveraged finance at Manufacturers Hanover/Chemical Bank before joining Wachovia Securities, where he built and led the bank’s Loan Syndications business. He went on to co-found Gulf Stream Asset Management, a leveraged credit and high-yield asset manager that grew to $4.5B in institutional capital before its sale to Apollo Global Management. He then co-founded New Street Investment Partners, investing across minerals, real estate, technology, energy, and consumer products.

Mark holds a BSBA in Finance and International Management from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and completed the International Business Program at Nijenrode University in the Netherlands. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Charlotte Chapter of the CFO Leadership Council and actively participates in the Tech Leaders Forum of Charlotte.
