Bob Fields brings extensive public market investing and investor relations experience to our CFO Services. With a deep background and understanding of the strategies and tactics that emerging publicly traded companies need to achieve their valuation goals, Bob provides strategic insights at the CFO level that drive value creation for any enterprise, public or private.
Prior to joining CFO Pro+Analytics, Bob spent his career as a professional investor covering a variety of asset classes.
Most recently, he was a Portfolio Manager at Cardinal Capital Management where he led investments in micro-, small and SMID-cap companies. He has spent over two decades developing expertise in identifying companies with strong valuation growth potential, backing these stocks with investment funds to help them achieve their goals.
Bob works with companies using a hands-on approach with the executive team. He has advised and challenged C-suite executives in strategy & capital allocation and has deep experience assessing activist engagements, corporate transactions and special situations. As a result of this specialized expertise, Bob leverages our CFO Services capabilities in a targeted way to assist executive teams to improve their financial and operating strategies with a direct connection to investor relations, share liquidity development and price appreciation.
His fundamental orientation and industry experience in equities and fixed income enable him to provide a wide range of strategic financing advice to management teams navigating the challenges of public markets. From an industry standpoint, his micro-, small & SMID-cap specialization provides Bob with exposure and familiarity with business models in healthcare, financial services, real estate, media, and asset management. He has extensive experience raising capital and communicating strategic plans and results to the institutional investment community.
Additionally, he has managed and mentored analysts and traders for due diligence, management interviews and valuation techniques. Bob has been a founding member of the senior management team for multiple asset management businesses as well as served on the Board of Directors of Steris Corporation (NYSE: STE).
He began his career working in the audit division of Arthur Andersen LLP. He has an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a licensed CPA (inactive). A native of Indiana, Bob received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Ball State University.
