Daniel Hennig is an accounting and finance professional with over fifteen years of experience, including two years in public accounting (audit, CAS) and thirteen years in various corporate accounting roles where his most recent role was Controller of a global nonprofit. Daniel has deep experience in non-profit financial leadership.

He has an extensive background in full-cycle accounting, audit, budgeting, and ERP systems, specifically Sage Intacct, with which he has over 10 years of experience as an end-user, system administrator, and is a Certified Sage Intacct Accounting Specialist. He has gone through multiple Sage Intacct implementations as Project Lead and also has experience with a wide variety of financial applications including: Concur, Salesforce, Martus, SIP, Expensify, Ramp, BILL, ADP, Paychex, Bamboo HR, Procurify, Paylocity, Floqast, and Numeric.

Daniel has a proven track record of building finance and accounting functions from the ground up, including chart of accounts design, banking setup, financial reporting, and governance infrastructure, in early-stage and rapidly scaling nonprofit environments. He is also experienced in nonprofit compliance and tax obligations, including 990 filings, restricted fund tracking, and board reporting.

Originally from Connecticut, he has an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Southern Connecticut State University and obtained a Forensic Accounting Certificate from New York University. He currently resides in the Washington, D.C area with his wife and children and enjoys hiking and camping with them in his free time.
